Here is an idea I got from another fan board. Post your idea for the plot of future chapters.

This thread is not about what features or professions should be added, nor is it about what you thing Anet WILL do. Lets talk about some of our own ideas for chapters in the GW world.

Here are mine:

As we know from dev statements, Nightfall will "tie up loose ends" from Proph and Factions. These three games seem to make up a trilogy centered around the undead, Abondoned, and this coming apocolips called "Nightfall".

My idea....
After Nightfall is defeted the 3 continets are left in a state of peril. Orr gone, Aschelon beaten, Kryta left leaderless witht the fall of the Mantle, Cantha locked in a Kurzic/Luxon war that has only grown worse since Shiro's defeat, and the devistasion left in Elona forces a band of hero's to explore for new land and a new chance at peace.

Ch 4: Ragnorok(?)

Traveling north of Maguma Jungle our adventures find a land in worse shape then their own. A lost kingdom of humans enslaved by the Charr, who are far more powerfull and organized then they appered in Tyria. Our adventures fight to free these lost people and in the proccess discover the Charr themselves are in fact lead by a race of giants that are the magical offspring of men and titans. The rabbit hole goes deeper still when our adventures discover the giants themselves are controled by a race from The Mists called the Fey. The Fey and their minions clash with the humans in an epic battle that reaches all the way to The Mists themselves.

(As you can see, this chapter contines the Charr story and borrowes hevily from Norse culture. The giants are the giants in Norse culture that were the enemies of the gods. The Fey are, of course, the "fairy people" from Norse culture. They were normaly good, but could be very bad as well. Here, they are very very bad.)

Ch 5: The New World

From the freed people of the northern lands our adventures learn of a land to the west, one the northern people once did trade with. They say this land is vast, open, and full of wealth. Our adventures pursue...

(Don't have much more of a plot idea here. This would center on North American Indian culture(s) and would have the largest continent yet. It would also further dive into other supernatural beings and "gods" and another region of The Mists.)

Ch 6: (?) un-named

With the help of the people of this new world a successful settlement is established. Shortly after, strange attacks begin from the south. An attacker taken prisoner reveals these attackes were ordered by their gods. A date has been set by the calander of their gods, a date for the end of all life in the world. That date draws near.

(Again, not much more plot details then this. This one would focus on Mian/Aztec cultures. The date refers to the last day in the Mian(?) calander, some time in 2012. The "gods" worshiped by these people would be the Seer's race. Here we would learn of their war with the Mursurat, both their origins from a world on "the other side of The Mists", and that they are not any better then the Mursurat.)

As you can see, this trilogy focuses on exploration. Not only exploring the world, but what is beyond this world (The Mists and "the other side of The Mists") as well and what lives there. This would also open up a location for future chapters. As new continents can not be added indefinatly (the planet can only be so big) The Mists gives us vessal for moving to worlds beyond our own.

You realize you don't need to keep borrowing cultural stuff for future GW ideas?
The Mists are the realm of the gods, which means, people aren't going to be living there.
Fighting against the gods make no sense at all. This pretty much means all professions lose their powers. You think Grenth would let his necromancers to use death powers when they are trying to slay him?

I know this isn't about what Anet will do, but ideas have to make sense and be logical.

But Anet has said that is what they intend to do. Borrow from other culters, both real and fictional culters. I will post my source if I find it. I think it was in an early interview about Nightfall.

Your right living people do not live there. Where did I say they would? But people can enter it, like the HoH, FoW, and Abaddon's relm.

I made no suggestion of fighting agains the REAL gods. I said "gods", as in beings pretending to be gods. Similar to the Mursuratt.

Besides, what do you think Nightfall is about? Abaddon is a god. While I can't say for sure we will be fighting against him directly we will be opposing him.

I apprciate the critizim, you were just making assumptions I did not intend.

EDIT: Found my source for the cultures refrences. From IGN: http://pc.ign.com/articles/708/708116p1.html

"Each one is intended to offer a unique visual style based either on real world geography and culture or some sort of mythological setting. "

I think that your ideas have a lot of potential. Anet could definitely expound on those ideas and come up with some great story lines and gameplay.

You said make YOUR OWN Ch4, which means you can think outside of the box instead of within the limits of what Anet said it is going to do.

In your Chap 4, the heroes battled all the way up to the North to the Mists. Then in Chap 5, they explored FURTHER NORTH, which is logically assumed to be beyond the Mists.

specify "gods". Don't assume people know what you are talking about.
True, you are opposing a God in Nightfall, but is Abaddon giving any classes powers? No? That's what I thought.
It wouldn't make any sense for Necromancers to get powers from Grenth when they are fighting Grenth now would it?

In chapter 4 they travel north yes, but not north to The Mists. The Mists would be accessed in the same way FoW or UW is now, through some kind of portal.

In chapter 5, if you read it correctly, I say the travel WEST. Not north

I did specify "gods", in quotes, as to indicate something called a god but is not litterally a god.

And where did I say we would face Grenth? You would not in any of my ideas. My plot ideas hold true to the idea that the 5 primary gods are good, on the side of humanity, and un-opposable.

Constructive critizism is one thing, but your last post was just short of vendictive trolling. The point of this tread was to see other peoples ideas as well. If you dont like mine, come up with your own.

Geez I am not trying to troll this thread, I am just trying to get you to understand why I am not completely understanding your approach in this endeavor.
If I was trolling I would be going around telling that your thread sucks because of X, X, and X.

GUYZ, your putting way too much thought and effort into this, whatever you ARGUE here about is most likely NOT going to affect what Anet is already planned for Chapter 4. Even I have my ideas for Chapter 4, and I don't appriciate others critisizing it. It would be MY idea and you may have YOUR OWN ideas. Keep it to yourself or share it. However, do not say yours better or try to find mistake in others' opinion.
